In the Rainbow Group we have been working hard practising our listening skills. We have also been talking about how we can help each other or our friends if we think they are feeling sad. We love to play board games and Anne always gets a six so sometimes we ask her to take our turn! We will take loads of photos for next time!

The Rainbow Group within Dunoon Primary School is a Nurture Group facility aiming to provide a flexible, early intervention resource which is responsive to children’s needs in terms of their social and emotional well-being. It is staffed by two supportive adults and selected children attend 4 mornings a week, remaining part of the class group for the rest of the time. Snack time and sharing around the table is an essential part of the daily routine alongside the development of social skills, emotional literacy and the usual curriculum.

Welcome to the Rainbow Group Room
We love our room because
“There are rainbows everywhere”
“There are lots of toys that we can share”
“You get tokens and you shop with them on Friday”
“It is such fun – it’s the best room ever”
“It is like the trees and water you get in the desert – yes it’s like an oasis!”
“It helps us to be good”.
Our recent topics have been “Our School and Our Community” and “Friends and Feelings” and below are two of our displays of work.
