Constable David MacPhee was in school this afternoon ( 24 April ) He spoke and gave a really good presentation on bullying and online dangers. This was very informative for P5 and will make them more aware of the dangers online.

Dunoon Primary School had a tremendously fantastic day! The pupils took up the challenge of dressing up as their favourite book characters! This was to celebrate World Book Day. It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO<http://www.unesco.org.uk/> as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world. The characters seen around the school were Harry Potter, Darth Vader, King Kong, Unicorns, Bella from Frozen, Cat in the Hat, and Willy Wonka to name but a few! What a super day enjoyed by every pupil in the school!
Brownie Thinking Day!
The Topic in P3B this year has been to improve and care for our School Environment. We cleared out the raised beds, went to our local supermarket and selected suitable plants to brighten our School playground. We are going to have a lot of building work going on very soon and we thought the gardens would cheer people up in the midst of the major refurbishment. P3B enjoyed every minute of their gardening activities and met some snails, which they then wrote wonderful stories about. They then thought of very interesting ways to discourage them from our beautiful garden!
On the 2nd June 2017 P3b had lots of fun making salt dough. First of all we put all the ingredients in a bowl. At first it didn’t go right so we had to Persevere, Analyse and Evaluate. Then we figured out that we had to mix more ingredients together!!! In later lessons we are going to shape the dough into snails.

On Friday 11th of November P7 launched their Children in Need fundraising activities for 2016. During the following week P7 sold raffle tickets for a Build A Bear Labrador, encouraged pupils to enter their draw a “Sporty Pudsey” Competition and sold Pudsey and Blush badges and bookmarks. P3B joined in all the fun!
P7 made a series of visits to P4/3 to support them in Digital Learning using Lego We Do. The peer support provided by P7 was so successful that P4/3 not only acquired the skills to programme the Lego models, but achieved such a sound understanding of the skills involved, they are now supporting P3/2 to develop the skills also.
Primary 4/3 enjoyed singing a selection of Christmas songs at our Christmas Concert in December. They chose Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty The Snowman and enjoyed dressing up and adding actions to their songs.
